Lake Murray Veterinary Hospital is a full service practice located in the Ballentine-Irmo area near Columbia, South Carolina. It is primarily a small animal practice with canines being the predominant species, followed by cats, then rabbits. Other species seen include farm animals, including chickens, ducks, horses, pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, and llamas. Also on occasion a few exotics have been seen. The wide variety of experiences expand from basic preventative care, to treatment of diseases, routine surgeries to emergency and cosmetic or therapeutic surgeries, and obstetrics. Full diagnostic capabilities for bloodwork and radiographs are available. An ICU area is set up for recovering patients. There is also a cat ward and a dog ward to separate the two species, and an isolation ward to contain communicable or contagious diseases. There is also a larg e bathtub for bathing animals.
